The rankings below were published in Wikipedia from International Monetary Fund’s 2011 gross domestic product per capita (GDP per capita) report and reflecting the countries with the lowest purchasing power parity (PPP). Since 1970, there has been encouraging news emerging from developing countries. According to the UN’s 2010 Human Development Report, life expectancy in developing countries has increased from 59 years in 1970 to 70 years in 2010. School enrollment climbed from 55% to 70% of all primary and secondary school-age children. Also, in the last forty years, per capita GDP doubled to more than ten thousand U.S. dollars. Poor countries are catching up with the wealthier countries, but not all countries are making fast progress. For example, some countries in Sub-Sahara Africa have little or no progress, largely due to the HIV epidemic and civil wars.

Democratic Republic of the Congo was known as Zaire until 1997. Congo is the largest country in the world that has French as an official language – the population of D.R Congo is about six million larger than the population of France (71 million people in D.R Congo vs 65 million in France). The Second Congo War beginning in 1998 has devastated the country. The war that involves at least 7 foreign armies is the deadliest conflict in the world since World War II – by 2008 the Second Congo War and its aftermath had killed 5.4 million people.

Scientists discovered four major adaptations in owls designed to prevent injury when the animals rotate their overly large heads by up to 270 degrees.

The study found that the birds' unique bone structures and vascular systems let them move with increased flexibility.

When the newz broke in Jamaica on May 11, 1981, that Bob Marley had passed on from this world at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami, the immediate and initial response by politically savvy Rastafarians in Jamaica was that the Reggae Maestro had been murdered, or more correctly, assassinated! At the time, the Rastas didn’t know exactly who, when, where or how, but they knew enough to suspect foul play with extreme prejudice. Of course, anyone who heard that reasoning, scoffed at it. After all, everyone knows that cancer is a fatal disease, and Bob had it and died from it and that’s a great pity… but murdered? How ridiculous! Maybe, or maybe not. Not when you stop and really think about it. Who would want to? Who would be able to and how could it be done so skillfully without suspicion?

A world's first marriage proposal in Space

On Feb 14, 2013, Sebastian will be the first man to propose to his girlfriend in Space, at an altitude of 30 kilometres. The space flight will be entirely filmed, from the launch to the arrival of the message of love in the stratosphere.
For 4,990 euros (Tsh 11 million), this romantic French man decided to call on the services of a French company ApoteoSurprise, a romance expert specialized in planning spectacular marriage proposals in Paris.
But forget Paris, Space will feature a  picture of the couple and the message "Vanessa, will you marry me?" - attached to a giant helium-filled balloon and released into the sky. Video recording equipment will be attached to the set, to capture the message and the view of the earth beneath it.
The lady will then become the first woman being proposed in Space. Would she say 'YES'?

Couples wanting to improve their sex lives may want to look at how they divide household chores, because men and women who follow traditional roles have sex more often than other couples, researchers say.
In a study that analyzed the roles of 4,500 heterosexual married couples in the United States, researchers found that when women handled the cooking, cleaning and shopping, and men did yard work and car maintenance, they had more active sex lives.
“The results show that gender still organizes quite a bit of everyday life in marriage,” Julie Brines, a University of Washington associate professor of sociology and a co-author of the study, said in a statement. “In particular, it seems that the gender identities husbands and wives express through the chores they do also help structure sexual behaviour.”
The findings, which are published in the American Sociological Review journal, showed that couples with traditional roles at home had sex 1,6 times more per month than those in which the husband did all the traditionally female work.
But Brines and her colleagues said the findings should not be used by men as an excuse not to help out at home.
“Men who refuse to help around the house could increase conflict in their marriage and lower their wives’ marital satisfaction,” said lead author Sabino Kornrich, a former UW graduate student who is now a researcher at the Juan March Institute in Madrid.
Although the data used in the study was collected from 1992 to 1994, which is the most recent survey looking into sexual frequency among married couples, Brines said it is unlikely that sex in the marital home has changed much since then.
“Marriage today isn’t what it was 30 or 40 years ago, but there are some things that remain important,” she said. “Sex and housework are still key aspects of sharing a life, and both are related to marital satisfaction and how spouses express their gender identity.”

Hazel Jones, 27, appeared on a television show called "This Morning" to reveal an unusual medical condition to the world: because of something called uterus didelphys, the UK woman has two vaginas, as well as two uteruses and two cervixes.
The gorgeous blonde, who likes to "celebrate" her unique body, said she first realized she was different when she began her period at age 14. "It wasn't fun," she said. "I used to suffer from horrendous cramps... I now know that my periods were worse because I have two wombs."
Still, Jones only discovered her condition after losing her virginity at age 18. Her boyfriend at the time noticed something was "different", so Jones went to a local hospital to get checked out.

The Rastafarian faith is indeed rising in Jamaica, where new census figures show a roughly 20 per cent increase in the number of adherents over a decade, to more than 29,000. While still a tiny sliver of the mostly Christian country's 2.7 million people, Jalani Niaah, an expert in the Rastafari movement, says the number is more like 8 to 10 per cent of the population, since many Rastas disdain nearly all government initiatives and not all would have spoken to census takers.
